Hitchcock and screenwriter Ben Hecht crafted one of the director’s most gripping spy thrillers around his most famous of MacGuffins—Uranium hidden in wine bottles—and yet it’s the emotional story of the characters played by Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant that make this one of Hitchcock’s very best films.
